Local bakery

Restore flavor and identity to our breads using local cereals.

At the heart of Manal Agribusiness Hub's vision is the promotion of local content. We prioritize the use of domestic raw materials, know-how, and talent to strengthen local value chains and create sustainable economic opportunities. This approach promotes local processing, the reduction of imports, and the upskilling of local stakeholders, thus contributing to a more inclusive, resilient economy proudly rooted in African soil.

Local bakery embodies a return to the roots and the promotion of African culinary heritage through the use of local grains and tubers such as millet, fonio, corn, and sweet potatoes. These ingredients, rich in nutrients and rich in history, are at the heart of a new generation of healthy, tasty, and distinctive baked goods.

At Manal Agribusiness Hub, we train passionate bakers, processors, and entrepreneurs who combine artisanal techniques with modern innovations. Our programs emphasize hands-on learning—from grain selection and milling to breadmaking, fermentation, baking, and preservation. Participants learn to make a wide range of products, including millet and fonio breads, sweet potato buns, corn cakes, biscuits, and reimagined local snacks.

Beyond technical skills, this training fosters creativity and local entrepreneurship. It provides learners with the tools they need to design product lines tailored to the tastes of modern consumers while promoting local agricultural production.

The Local Bakery is also part of a food security and economic sovereignty approach, reducing dependence on wheat imports and stimulating local processing sectors. Through this sustainable and inclusive approach, Manal Agribusiness Hub is helping to foster a generation of committed bakers who bring innovation, pride, and impact to their communities.

Know-how rooted in the land, looking to the future.
